Books I Want to Read!
Books I Want to Read is where I highlight books that have been released and one that has yet to come out. I usually try to showcase a yet to be released book from the upcoming month.

Released:

The Wrenchies by Farel Dalrymple

Release Date | July 15, 2014

Premise | Meet the Wrenchies.

They're strong, powerful, and if you cross them, things will quickly go very badly for you. Only one thing scares them—growing up. Because in the world of the Wrenchies, it's only kids who are safe... anyone who survives to be an adult lives in constant fear of the Shadowsmen. All the teenagers who come into contact with them turn into twisted, nightmarish monsters whose minds are lost forever.

When Hollis, an unhappy and alienated boy, stumbles across a totem that gives him access to the parallel world of the Wrenchies, he finally finds a place where he belongs. But he soon discovers that the feverish, post-apocalyptic world of the Wrenchies isn't staying put... it's bleeding into Hollis's normal, real life. Things are getting very scary, very fast.

Farel Dalrymple brings all his significant literary and artistic powers to bear in his magnum opus—a sprawling, intense science fiction tale that has at its heart the uncertainty and loneliness of growing up.

Summary from Goodreads

My Thoughts | This graphic novel sounds really neat! The art style is gorgeous and seems up my ally. I love that it's got some fantasy, science-fiction, and is more of a middle-grade/young adult target audience. So perhaps all that gore, abundant sexuality, and vulgarities will be tempered down a bit? Not that those are bad things but sometimes I wanna read some good old clean stories that are fun.

To Be Released:

This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

Release Date | December 23, 2014

Premise | The second installment in the epic Starbound trilogy introduces a new pair of star-crossed lovers on two sides of a bloody war.

Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.

Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.

Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.

Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.

Summary from Goodreads

My Thoughts | Omg! The sequel! Yus! The first book was absolutely fabulous and I really liked it a lot. So the second one should be just as equally fantastic and from reading early reviews, it totally is! Not to mention I've been on some big science kick and the best part is - the main character, Jubilee, is a PoC! Freaking awesome! Can't wait to read it!
